Our Vision

Women are innovators

WESI is a service and faith-based National NGO that exists to empower women for the holistic transformation of South Sudanese society. WESI registered with the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission(RRC)on 16th September 2021 via registration number 3142. The organization was birthed out of the strong desire of South Sudanese professionals, primarily natives of Warrap state, to address the gaps in responding to Water and Sanitation Hygiene crises that may lead to poor health and death, among other economic challenges. WESI is currently implementing projects to address the following core problems;

  • Unsafe drinking leads to poor health and causes death

  • Poor maintenance of water point

  • Lack of well-trained personnel, especially women well repair business pump mechanics

  • Lack of spare parts and tool kits for well repair work.

  • Lack of microfinance and entrepreneurial skills to run the repair business.

Meet Abuola

Abuola Garang Deng is a head teacher at Panjap Primary School. Before the school well was repaired on May 15th, she was worried the children would miss out on their lessons as they did last year when water was not available. To make matters worse, the World Food Program had to stop their food assistance program at the school since children were no longer attending due to the broken well. Imagine her relief in knowing her students will now have water, food AND an education!
